About Led


A Light-Emitting Diode (LED) is a semiconductor-based electrical circuit component and has a wide range of usage area in global technology market now. With the development of powerful LEDs, it has become more possible to use them in commercial, industrial and residential lighting.




LEDs are produced in variety of shapes, sizes and colors. The main types of LEDs are miniature, mid-range and high power ones. The wavelength of the light emitted, and thus its color depends on the band gap energy of the materials forming the semiconductor junction.


LEDs present many advantages over other traditional light sources including lower energy consumption (highly efficient), longer lifetime, improved robustness, smaller size, faster switching, flexible/controllable use and greater durability and reliability.  Disadvantages of LED can be said as being relatively expensive first-costs and requirement for more precise current and heat management than other light sources. While  LED technology and its availability has steadily improved, the advantages of latest innovations in lighting have ascended in advance.




On the other hand, LED's are environmentally friendly with low CO2 emmisions and don't contain hazardous contents and don't radiate any UV lightbeam and radiated-heat.


In conclusion, LED's have become a new category of everyday lighting by replacing other traditional lightsources where needed.
